END OF KALIYUGA

KALI YUGA, in simple terms, it means the Destruction of Present, is an interesting topic but a very little amount of people know about it. Today I will give you all brief information about the Yuga, and about the end or destruction of KALIYUGA.

getting to the topic let me explain to you what do you mean by Yuga? Yuga or Yuga cycle is a cyclic age in Hindu Mythology. Yuga or the Yuga Cycle is divided into four types

1. Krita or Satya Yuga

2. Treta Yuga

3 Dvapara Yuga

4. Kali Yuga

Let’s briefly discuss what they exactly mean:

1. Krita or Satya Yuga:

Also had known as “the age of truth” or “Hindu Golden Age” the first and best Yuga in a cycle. It is the age of truth and perfection. This Yuga has no crime and all humans are kind and friendly. The Krita Yuga is so named because humans are long-living, powerfully built, honest, youthful, vigorous, erudite, and virtuous. The four Vedas are one. All mankind can attain supreme blessedness. There is no agriculture or mining since the earth yields those riches on its own. The weather is pleasant and everyone is happy. There is no disease, decrepitude, or fear of anything. Virtue reigns supreme. This Yuga starts with humans having an average lifespan of 100,000 years.

2. Treta Yuga:

The second Yuga "Treta" means "third" and it has three-quarters virtue and one-quarter sinfulness. In this age, virtue diminishes slightly. At the beginning of the age, many emperors rise to dominance and conquer the world. Wars become frequent and the weather begins to change to extremities. Agriculture, labor, and mining become existent. This Yuga starts with humans having an average lifespan of 10,000 years.

3. Dvapara Yuga:

"Dvapara" means "two" and it has two-quarters virtue and two-quarters sinfulness. In this age, people become tainted with qualities and aren't as strong as their ancestors. Diseases become rampant. Humans are discontent and fight each other. The Vedas are divided into four parts. People still possess characteristics of youth in old age. This Yuga starts with humans having an average lifespan of 1000 years.

4. Kali Yuga:

It is the last Yuga in the Yuga Cycle. There is one-quarter virtue and three-quarters sinfulness. It is the age of darkness and ignorance. People stop following Dharma and lack virtue. They become slaves to their passions and are barely as powerful as their earliest ancestors of Satya Yuga. Society falls into disuse and people become liars and hypocrites. Knowledge is lost and scriptures are diminished. Humans eat forbidden and dirty food. The environment is polluted causing a scarcity of food and water. Wealth is heavily diminished. Families become non-existent. This Yuga starts with humans having an average lifespan of 100 years.

Taking into consideration all the mythology, let me give you brief information about how the end of humans or the Kali Yuga is going to happen on our planet.

Muslim Mythology (Dābbat al-Arḍ):

Dābbat al-Arḍ in other words we can say “The Beast of the Earth” is considered as the destruction of humans as per the Islamic Mythology. It will appear after the sun rises in the west, where the Beast will be sighted the first time. The Beast is mentioned in the Quran and s also mentioned in the ahadith, which expands upon the characteristics of the beast. Islamic tradition holds that the Beast will precipitate the death of all true believers and the removal of the Quran from the world.

The Quran mentions that the Beast will address the unbelievers and admonish them for their lack of attention towards God:

And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), we shall produce from the earth a beast to (face) them: He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs. — Qur'an, sura 27

Christian Mythology: Satan Released

As per Bible “the millennial age of peace all but closes the history of planet Earth. However, the story is not yet finished: "When the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea."

As per Christian Mythology Satan, a devil is considered as the end of humans in the present.

Hindu Mythology: (Kalki):

Kali Yuga is considered the worst Yuga among all the Yugas in the Yuga cycle. Hindu Mythology says that the end of Kali Yuga is near and can be seen in our day-to-day life. But when this Kali Yuga started and why it is considered the worst Yuga?

So to answer this question the story of Mahabharata needs to be seen in a certain context. In 3140 BCE, the Kurukshetra War ended, and in 3102 BCE, Krishna left his body. Three to four months after the war, the Kali Yuga began. As of 2012 AD, Krishna’s era ended 5,114 years ago. If you subtract 2592, which is the cumulative number of years of the two Kali Yugas that are at the bottom of the ellipse which describes the axial precession, you arrive at 2522 years. That means we have already completed 2522 years of Dwapara Yuga, and since its total duration is 2592 years, we still have 70 years until its completion. In the year 2082, we will complete Dwapara Yuga and move on to Treta Yuga. The world will go through another upheaval, not necessarily in terms of war but probably in terms of population explosion and natural calamities, before moving on to this new era of wellbeing and upward movement of human consciousness.

Now how we can predict the end of Kali Yuga? As per Hindu Mythology, one day or night of our fathers is equal to 1 month of human beings. At the same time, one day and night of gods is equal to 1 year of human beings. That is, one month of the gods is equal to 30 years of humans and one year of gods is equal to 360 years of human beings. According to the scriptures, the Kali Yuga is 432000 years of which there are still 427000 years left. After this, the Kali Yuga will end.

The period of Kali Yuga in the Brahmapurana is 432000 years. At its beginning, the age of man will be 100 years and the length will be 5.5 feet. As the Kali Yuga progresses, the age of human beings will decrease to 13 years and the length will be 4 years.”

A minor text named Kalki Purana is a relatively recent text, likely composed in Bengal. Its dating floruit in the 18th-century. Wendy Doniger dates the Kalki mythology containing Kalki Purana to between 1500 and 1700 CE.

Kalki is the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, who will appear at the end of the present Kali Yuga age to punish the wicked, reward the good, and inaugurate the Satya Yuga age of sacrifice and dharma. It is also believed that Kalki will also kill the demon Kali.

Kalki is described in the Puranas as the avatar who rejuvenates existence by ending the darkest and destructive period to remove adharma and ushering in the Satya Yuga while riding a white horse with a fiery sword. The description and details of Kalki are different among various Puranas. Kalki is also found in Buddhist texts. As per Hindu Purana “Kalki will appear at the end of Kali Yuga to restore the order of the world. He will become the king, a "Turner of the Wheel", and one who triumphs. He will eliminate all barbarians and robbers, end adharma, restart dharma, and save the good people. After that, humanity will be transformed and will prevail on earth and the golden age or Satya Yuga will begin”

This is how the end of Kali Yuga will happen in the upcoming divine years, what is your opinion about it. Do you believe in all those mythologies? Is Covid 19 is a sign of the destruction of Kali Yuga? Is the end is near? Well, it’s still a mystery.
